Question:

It looks like you used paint and a pen in S is for Shamrock. How do you do it?

Answer:

I used a two layer process for this book- first, I drew in ink all the art. Then I took a copy of these drawings and taped them down, one at a time, to a big light box. Over these copies I taped a piece of water color paper. Once this was taped down I painted in watercolor. When these paintings were finished I sent the two piece- black and white drawing and watercolor painting to the art director. The two pieces were scanned and placed together by the art director. And that's how the art was made for S is for Shamrock!
